Because of extremely hot temperatures expected on Sunday August 5th, the schedule for Pennytown Homecoming has been modified. Changes are as follows:

10:00 am  — Prayer Service at Pennytown Freewill Baptist Church

12:00 pm — Lunch and fellowship at Knights of Columbus Hall (1267 S English St, Marshall, MO)

Please spread the word and we hope to see you at both locations.

Belated Thanks and Congratulations

The Friends of Pennytown Church would like to thank all who attended the 2011 Homecoming celebration for their continued support. This year we raised over $800 from donations, offerings, and the raffle.

Nearly Halfway There

Well, even though summer isn’t exactly around the corner, Homecoming 2011 will be here before you know it. This year’s celebration will fall on Sunday, August 7th. All are welcome to join us for food, worship, and fellowship. There’ll be more details posted here as we approach summertime. Until then, here are some pictures from Homecoming 2010 to warm you up inside a little (a special thanks to Rev. Ron Tooley, our guest speaker).

Homecoming 2010

A Beautiful Day

Thanks to everyone who joined us out at Pennytown on August 2nd. It was another wonderful homecoming with good food and fellowship. Thanks also to our special guest and speaker Mark Miles, and to all those who contributed time, labor, and money.

We would not be able to maintain the church and grounds without your generosity. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Homecoming 2009

Homecoming 2008 has come and gone.  Our special guest was Warren Read, author of The Lyncher in Me: A Search for Redemption in the Face of History. Below are some pictures from that gathering. The 2009 annual Homecoming will be on Sunday, August 2nd. Our keynote speaker will be Mark Miles, Deputy State Historical Preservation Officer for the State of Missouri with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
